Premier to attend western governors meeting to raise province’s profile

Premier Alison Redford is making another trip to the United States to raise Alberta’s profile.

EDMONTON — Premier Alison Redford is making another trip to the United States to raise Alberta’s profile.

Her office says Redford will attend the western governors meeting that starts Saturday in Cle Elum, Wash.

Topics include natural resources, the environment, human services, economic development and international relations.

Canada’s western premiers have a standing invitation to participate each year.

Last week, Redford was part of a private meeting of world government and business leaders near Washington, D.C.

She also plans to attend an Asian investors forum in Beijing later this month and will probably lead a delegation to London’s Summer Olympics.
