Quebec police call zoos to see if stolen tiger, camel were offered for sale

Police have checked Quebec’s zoos to see if a stolen tiger and two camels have been offered for sale.

MONTREAL — Police have checked Quebec’s zoos to see if a stolen tiger and two camels have been offered for sale.

Quebec police say so far no one has tried selling the exotic animals who were stolen in their trailer on Friday.

The truck which pulled the trailer containing the beasts was found on the weekend.

Sgt. Ronald McInnis says police haven’t determined if the thieves were after the vehicles or the animals.

The tiger and camels were being taken to the Bomanville, Ont., zoo when they were snatched while their driver was resting.

The zoo has offered a $20,000 reward for the return of the critters.
