A public rally to celebrate the Red Deer Optimist Rebels’ Telus Cup championship will be staged at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Deer Tennis Club parking lot.
The Optimist Rebels became the first Red Deer team to capture the Canadian midget AAA hockey crown when they defeated the Phenix du College Esther-Blondin of Quebec 6-5 in double overtime Sunday at Leduc.
