BANFF — A man has been arrested in the vicious beating and sexual assault of a woman in the Rocky Mountain resort community of Banff.
RCMP say the victim was walking by herself in a residential area early Sunday when she was attacked.
She suffered injuries to her head and face and is recovering in hospital.
Police say a 38-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested without incident.
Allen Patrick Slade Viscount is facing one count of sexual assault causing bodily harm and is waiting for a bail hearing.
