RCMP arrest six after officers swarmed by youths at Yellowknife house party

YELLOWKNIFE — Yellowknife RCMP have arrested six young people after Mounties were swarmed by young people while trying to break up an out of control house party.

Up to 60 people in their teens and early 20s were inside the home early Sunday morning.

Police say when officers cleared the house some of the people began fighting in the street.

RCMP say when Mounties tried to break up the fights some officers were swarmed by the crowd.

During the disturbance RCMP say the crowd tried to release suspects from police cars and jumped on top of the vehicles.

There is no word on any injuries.
