RCMP investigate after baby born on roadside

A mother and her newborn child were taken to hospital in Edmonton after the woman gave birth at the side of a road on a reserve west of the city.

WABAMUN — A mother and her newborn child were taken to hospital in Edmonton after the woman gave birth at the side of a road on a reserve west of the city.

RCMP are investigating the incident on the Paul First Nation, which happened around 2:30 p.m.

The child was airlifted to Edmonton’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Its mother was taken to hospital by ground ambulance.

Their conditions aren’t known.
