RCMP seek public assistance in locating truck driver

Red Deer city RCMP Traffic Services are seeking help in tracking down the pickup truck driver who hit a motorcyclist and failed to stop to help.

On Oct. 1, between 12:05 a.m. and 12:15 a.m., a motorcyclist was struck at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 32nd Street.

The Blue 2006 Yamaha motorcycle was westbound on 32nd Street when it was struck by a white-coloured pickup truck, also westbound.

Police allege the driver failed to stop and continued westbound on 32nd Street.

The 26-year-old motorcyclist from Red Deer went to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on his own following the collision. He was treated and released.

He recalled speaking to a witness at the scene but did not obtain the individual’s name. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Red Deer City RCMP Traffic Services at 403-343-5575.
