RDC engineering instructor recognized for excellence

A Red Deer College engineering instructor has been rewarded for his efforts in teaching excellence.

Wei Zhao is the recipient of the prestigious Gold Award for Teaching Excellence awarded by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

The national award honours a faculty member who has exhibited consistent excellence in teaching and has had a significant impact on the growth of students.

Zhao has taught post-secondary courses for 12 years, of which five have been at Red Deer College. He teaches students in the Bachelor of Engineering University transfer program and Bachelor of Science program.

The Association of Canadian Community Colleges is the national organization for 128 publicly-funded colleges and institutions. Zhao received the award at a ceremony in Halifax on Wednesday.
