RDC house to move

RDC carpentry instructor Gary Halvorson and RDC shop tech Duane Bott work to prepare the trailers which will carry a house from Red Deer College to Sylvan Lake this week. Built as a partnership with Avalon Central Alberta, Landmark Group of Builders, and RDC, the Eco-friendly home was built on the campus and will be dismantled and moved to its permanent lot in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday.

Built as a partnership with Avalon Central Alberta, Landmark Group of Builders, and RDC, the Eco-friendly home was built on the campus and will be dismantled and moved to its permanent lot in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday. Designed for central Alberta conditions, the Evolve home-building project on campus is a unique learning opportunity for RDC trades and technology students. Components of the home were built in a factory in Edmonton and assembled by professionals on site at RDC. The building was assemble on the RDC site to give students the opportunity to see where the industry is headed said Halvorson.
