The RDSO is throwing open the doors of the Red Deer College Arts Centre’s Mainstage for two dress rehearsals: From 1:30 to 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 6, which will feature an all-Tchaikovsky program, and next April 27, which includes works by Prokofiev and Beethoven.

One hundred and fifty audience members will be able to observe the conductor, musicians and a guest artist working together and problem solving. Second trumpet Samantha Whelan will also give a short presentation about the orchestra, and a study guide will be presented to participants two weeks before the rehearsals.

Complimentary refreshments, courtesy of Safeway, will be served during an intermission.

The Educational Dress rehearsal program is aimed at students, seniors and speciality groups. But others are also welcome to call 403-340-2948 to request a seat booking, based on availability.

The dress rehearsal program is made possible through a $2,000 grant from the Red Deer and District Community Foundation.
