A Vancouver band that wants to put rebellion back into rock ’n’ roll is playing in Red Deer on Thursday.

Krome guitarist/vocalist Shawn Meehan said rock should be about “pissing off your parents and having a good time. It hasn’t been like that for a long time.”

Krome aims to change that with its latest release, Kronic Rock. With influences that range from AC/DC, to Van Halen and Chris Cornell, the quartet formed in 2004 has attempted to restate “rock’s primal path” with the powerhouse single TMZ, which is getting some radio play.

Kronic Rock also contains such “fist-pounding” rock tunes as Turn It Up.

Krome performs at The Vat. For more information, call 403-346-5636.
