Rebels profile: Jordie Deagle

Jordie Deagle

Born: January 1, 1989

Position: Left wing

Shoots: Left

Height: 6’3″

Weight: 199 lbs.

Hometown: Lethbridge, Alta.

2008-2009 team: Red Deer Rebels — WHL

Draft: Free agent

Player info: “I think ‘Deags’ has been great. He’s really added an element to our team,” said head coach Jess Wallin. “He’s a leader in the dressing room and a veteran guy who is now in his fourth season in the league. He upgrades our 19-year-old group. He’s patient with the puck, he has grit and he’s not afraid to go to the net. He’s not a super-skilled guy, a guy who’s going to get two points a game. But he’s going to be able to do the little things well and give us a veteran presence.”

Deagle is tickled to be back in the WHL with a club he feels is on the rise.

“We don’t really have the skill to run and gun, but when we play our system and play a safe game, we’re definitely a team to contend with,” he insisted.
