Last Friday, a Savage .30-06 was reported stolen from a vehicle that got stuck in a ditch in a remote area. The gun owner had gone for help and when he returned less than an hour later his gun was gone. The theft happened around 10 a.m.

Police said firearms were also stolen recently from vehicle parked outside a coffee shop while the owners were inside having lunch.

RCMP are reminding hunters to secure their firearms to prevent thefts.
