Jack Schulze polishes half of the new Shur Gain feed sign destined for the old Parrish and Heimbecker elevator in Stettler on Tuesday. The former autobody man made the sign to replace the aging one on the retired elevator’s side. The site is now owned and operated by the Stettler P&H Elevator Preservation Society, a registered non-profit group, which has opened a coffee shop that’s open Tuesday through Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. with proceeds to the elevator’s restoration. An open house will be held there today so folks can see what work’s been done inside so far.
