Red Dearies make city wonderful

I needed to be at the Alberta Health facility on Bremner. When I was finished I decided to go home in my electric wheelchair because the weather was perfect.

In front of the “old” Red Deer nursing home I got hung up trying to get up the sidewalk. (There was a dipped side walk.) Backing up to make a run at the sidewalk was no option on such a busy street. Lots of vehicles passed and saw my struggles, until a gentleman stopped his truck, put his hazard lights on got out and gave me a little push up the sidewalk and on my way I was once again.

I thanked him profusely and now I like to do it publicly. What a great person! Thanks again if you remember that you made someone’s day!

I find that they’re lots of good Red Dearies. I experience it daily: my home-care workers from AHS and CBI, the transit chauffeurs, store clerks, nurses, doctors etc., to name a few.

Thank you all for making my life in Red Deer for 54 years wonderful each day.
