Work on your green thumb this summer by renting one of the Red Deer’s community garden plots.

Red Deer College Gardens (located west of Bethany CollegeSide at Red Deer College) has both medium (five by six metres) and large (10 by 12 metres) plots up for grabs while the Parkside Gardens (located off Nash Street behind 52nd Avenue) have medium plots available for the 2012 gardening season.

Registration for the garden plots must be done in person at the Cemetery Services office at the Alto Reste Cemetery 3.6 km from 30 Avenue on Highway 11E between 8 a.m. on 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Plots are $37.50 per large plot, and $23 per medium plot.

There’s a one plot per applicant limit.

Weather permitting, the garden plots will be ready for planting on May 12.

The season ends on Oct. 12.
