On Nov. 23, 2011, I went to the Emergency Department of Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre because I was feeling very ill. I spent 12 hours there while numerous tests were run on me.
Every health-care employee, from the admitting staff, to the on-duty doctor, to the nurses, the specialist, the orderlies and other hospital staff treated me with respect, kindness, and with care and concern.
Even though it was a very busy day for the Emergency Department, I was placed in a room, attended to immediately, and was even fed. The staff checked on me often, and updated me on my progress throughout the day.
We are lucky to live in Red Deer where we have a top-notch hospital with top-notch, caring and capable staff.
We often hear many criticisms of hospital experiences, but this was not the case with me.
Thanks go to the Red Deer Regional Hospital people for making my experience there a very positive one, and I even enjoyed the hospital food!
