A Red Deer man facing weapons charges in relation to an alleged domestic dispute has reserved his plea until mid-May.

A Red Deer man facing weapons charges in relation to an alleged domestic dispute has reserved his plea until mid-May.

Timothy Douglas Grant, 52, was arrested from a residence in the area of 42nd Street and 54th Avenue in Red Deer on April 16.

Grant was subsequently charged with a number of weapons offences surrounding a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver Red Deer City RCMP allege was found at the scene.

Charges include possession of a firearm for a purpose dangerous to the public, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

Grant appeared in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday morning via closed-circuit TV from the Red Deer Remand Centre, where he remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Grant’s lawyer, Lorne Goddard, was unable to attend on Wednesday due to obligations in a Calgary courtroom.

His client’s hearing was adjourned to May 9, when he is to enter a plea.
