Team Canada, with Red Deer’s Stephanie Hanson and Amy Thomson on the roster, dominated the early rounds of competition in the World Cup of Roller Derby at Toronto, but couldn’t handle Team USA in Sunday’s final.
Playing their fifth game in four days, the Canadians fell 331-33 to the Americans and settled for silver medals.
The powerful USA squad yielded only 17 points prior to the gold-medal contest.
