CALGARY — Premier Alison Redford says there are no plans to delay an election call that will likely see Albertans going to the polls sometime in April.
Redford told reporters in Calgary that she isn’t pushing anything back, but her number one priority is to pass the provincial budget first.
She said that likely won’t take long and then she will call an election.
There have been reports that there is pressure from within the Progressive Conservative caucus to delay the call into May due to a number of scandals that have hit the government in recent weeks.
But Redford says the caucus is united and nothing has changed.
She says she believes the parties woes will dissipate once the election campaign begins and voters focus on what is really important.
