Four Central Alberta municipalities have ironed out dates for area residents looking for uninsurable coverage stemming from flooding on July 11 and 12.

The Alberta government committed up to $3.5 million under the 2011 Central Alberta Disaster Recovery Program.

Residents, small business owners and agricultural producers can apply for aid by attending a registration centre location.

The City of Lacombe and Lacombe County will host joint registration centres on Monday, Sept. 26, and Tuesday, Sept. 27. Applicants register at the Centennial Hall at the Lacombe Memorial Centre at 5214 50th Ave. from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Residents are asked to bring one piece of photo ID, a letter from insurance company indicating what damage is not covered (can be provided at a registration centre or later to a program evaluator), and a detailed list of all property damaged or destroyed.

People are asked not to bring photos or receipts when applying, but keep them for the evaluator. Tenants can apply for loss of personal belongings while landlords can apply for loss of items not owned by tenant, such as floor coverings and damaged walls.

Applications must be done in person. If this is not possible, call toll-free at 1-888-671-1111.

Lacombe county and city residents unable to attend the dates above, they can go to Lacombe City Hall at 5432 56th Ave., on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The Town of Eckville and Lacombe County will host a joint registration on Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eckville town office at 5023 51st Ave.

Any Eckville residents who can’t attend on these days can register at the town office, starting on Friday, Sept. 30.

Ponoka County is asking people to register at the county office on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The office is located at 4250 Hwy 2A.

Again, applicants must bring their documents.
