Constable was to start a two-day trial in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench before changing his plea.

Red Deer City RCMP the RCMP’s street team and organized crime section executed a search warrant on a residence in the 3500 block of 43rd Avenue on Sept. 24, 2009.

The search, which was the product of an ongoing investigation, found the drugs and cash during the search.

Two other people arrested during the bust weren’t charged but one of them was detained on outstanding warrants.

Following his Queen’s Bench appearance, Constable marched downstairs in the Red Deer Courthouse to face additional charges in provincial court of possession of a narcotic and two breaches of release from custody conditions.

Constable picked up the new charges in January while he was on release conditions from the 2009 charges.

He returns to court Dec. 1 to enter a plea on those charges.
