Both Red Deer major midget hockey teams will compete in the Calgary Mac’s tournament with the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs the first of the two seeing competition.

The Chiefs open the girls’ division Sunday at 2 p.m. against the Regina Rebels. They have Monday off before clashing with the Thompson-Okanagan Rockets at 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Westman Wildcats of Manitoba at 1 p.m. Wednesday and the Calgary Bruins at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. All games are at the Max Bell Arena.

The Red Deer Optimist Rebels don’t see action in the boys’ division until Monday when they face the Prince Albert Mintos at 9 a.m. at Father David Bell Arena. They take on the UFA Bisons Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Father David Bauer before clashing with the Winnipeg Wild at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Max Bell and the Valley West Hawks at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the Flames Arena.

The playoffs at set for Dec. 31 in both divisions with the girls’ final at 10 a.m. and the boys’ final at 2 p.m. Jan. 1 at the Saddledome.
