SWAN HILLS — Residents of Swan Hills are raising environmental concerns about a fire at a toxic waste plant in their town.
The facility is owned by Earth Tech and is designed to dispose of hazardous waste.
Gloria Scales, the community liaison to the plant, says she wasn’t told about the fire that broke out last month in the incineration unit. Alberta Infrastructure spokesman Michael Shields say they don’t believe there is a health risk to residents, but testing is taking place.
