A man from Rocky Mountain House has been arrested on a murder charge laid in the Kootenay region of southeastern B.C.

A man from Rocky Mountain House has been arrested on a murder charge laid in the Kootenay region of southeastern B.C.

RCMP in Trail confirm that they arrested and charged a suspect after investigating reports that a man was found with severe injuries at a home in the village of Fruitvale, 16 km east of Trail.

Scott Douglas Decembrini, 52, was rushed to hospital in Trail but died of his injuries.

RCMP say that Jordan Brian Shimell, 24, was found in the residence and was arrested quietly on a charge of second-degree murder.

Shimell is in custody pending his first court appearance, set for Rossland provincial court on Monday.
