Rocky Rebels spoil Zenert’s big day

Shon Zenert erupted for six touchdowns in a losing cause as the Sylvan Lake Lions fell 48-44 to the host Rocky Mountain Rebels in Central Bantam Football League play Saturday.

Brian Vaillancourt accounted for the other Lions points with four converts. For Rocky, Darcy Gusek scored four majors, Devin Dwyer, Logan Eklund and Mathew Wesolowsky each had one touchdown and Brayden Moorman contributed three converts.

At Innisfail, the Olds Bulldogs hammered the Cyclones 61-12 as O.J. Neustataeter scored two touchdowns to pace the winners.

In other games, the Hunting Hills Jr. Lightning knocked off the Lindsay Thurber Raiders 16-3, the Lacombe Raiders ripped the Stettler Cougars 48-0 and the Springbank Phoenix beat the Drumhellers Titans 32-13.

l Lacombe crushed the Sylvan Lake Bears 46-0 in peewee action.
