A 19-year-old man was transported by STARS air ambulance after a single vehicle rollover near Blackfalds on Tuesday morning.

Blackfalds RCMP Cpl. Barry Larocque said the man was southbound on Range Road 275 at about 11:30 a.m. and appears to have lost control in the gravel. His vehicle rolled multiple times. He was taken by ground ambulance to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, where STARS was going to fly him to Edmonton.

“He was conscious when he left the scene in the ambulance,” Larocque said on Tuesday.

The collision occurred about 14 km northwest of Blackfalds and the driver was the only person in the vehicle.

Larocque said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the rollover.
