In many third world countries children have to perform household chores or regular work on an empty stomach. These youths from the First Christian Reformed Church, left to right, Levi Jonker, Marissa Stryker and Madeline, are part of group of thirty who are participating in the 30-Hour Famine event. There are other church and school groups in the city who are also taking part in the event which began Thursday evening at 6pm, and last year raised a total of $12,124 for the World Vision initative.
