Rural attempted murder suspect sought

Blackfalds RCMP are searching for an armed male suspect involved in an attempted murder at a rural residence in Red Deer County Thursday morning.

Police responded to the residence at about 5:20 a.m. and found the victim who was assaulted by an unknown suspect and sustained serious injuries.

The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle which was recovered by police.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 1.65 to 1.67 metres tall (five feet five inches to five feet six inches), with a skinny build and short hair. He wore camouflage pants, a jacket and black toque.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Blackfalds RCMP at 403-885-3310.

Police considered the suspect armed and dangerous so no one should approach him, but rather contact police immediately.
