SPRUCE GROVE — Ponoka native Nolan Huysmans fired four goals as the Spruve Grove Saints skinned the Olds Grizzlys 9-1 in an Alberta Junior Hockey League game Saturday.
Tim Nolte, Trevor Tracy, Ryan Baskerville, Dylan Hollman and Sammy Spurrell also scored for the Saints, who notched five unanswered first-period power-play markers. Scott Antonsen finally got the visitors on the board during a late third-period power play.
Joel Miller made 27 saves for the win, while the Olds tandem of Brandon Thiessen and loser Jesse Ehnisz combined to stop 28 shots.
The Grizzlys are in Calgary tonight to face the Canucks, then take on the Oilers Tuesday at Okotoks.
Olds hosts the Bonnyville Pontiacs Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
