REGINA — Saskatchewan has designated a section of the Trans-Canada between Regina and Moose Jaw as its own “Highway of Heroes.”

REGINA — Saskatchewan has designated a section of the Trans-Canada between Regina and Moose Jaw as its own “Highway of Heroes.”

It’s intended as a tribute to Canadian Forces personnel from the province who have lost their lives while serving their country.

Premier Brad Wall made the announcement as he unveiled a sign just west of Regina to mark the highway’s new name.

Both cities were important bases for air training during the Second World War.

Both still have an active military presence.
