LOS ANGELES — The Vancouver Canucks are sticking with Cory Schneider.
With his team trailing the best-of-seven first-round series to the Los Angeles Kings 3-0 and facing elimination Wednesday in Game 4, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault will go with Schneider in goal over Roberto Luongo.
Schneider made 19 saves in Vancouver’s 1-0 loss in Game 3, allowing only Dustin Brown’s winner in the third period.
Luongo started Games 1 and 2 in Vancouver, both 4-2 losses.
But the much-maligned goaltender could hardly be faulted for either of the defeats.
The Canucks finished first in the NHL with 111 points to win the Presidents’ Trophy, while the Kings finished 16 points back in the Western Conference standings.
