Six aspiring Central Alberta scientists are getting ready to present their innovative projects in this year’s Canada-Wide Science Fair.

The high school students, mostly from Chinook’s Edge School Division, qualified from last weekend’s Regional Science Fair.

They will travel to Charlottetown, P.E.I., to present their science fair projects at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, which takes place from May 12 to 19.

Ruth Roedler, Central Alberta Regional Science Fair president, said science fairs teach kids everything from decision making to public speaking.

“It gives them a well-rounded education,” she said.

Olds High School Grade 12 students Collin Fair and Tim Carlielle, Argyll Centre Grade 9 student Joseph Gelowitz, Olds Ecole Deer Meadow School Grade 8 students Claire Bertens and Brooklyn McDonald, and Bowden Grandview School Grade 10 student Lakeisha Robertson, will go to the Canada-Wide Science Fair.
