EDMONTON — Alberta has recorded its second snowmobile fatality in two days.

RCMP say a 30-year-old man from Strathcona County was killed when he collided with a sport utility vehicle after driving his snowmobile from a field onto a road east of Edmonton.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the SUV and a passenger were not injured.

On Friday, a 21-year-old man looking to buy a snowmobile was killed after he took the machine for a test drive and hit a wire fence east of Grande Prairie. In mid-October, a man described as an experienced snowmobiler died when his machine broke through thin ice on a lake northwest of Edmonton.
