Security reviewed after air passengers get through wrong door

CALGARY — The Calgary Airport Authority is looking into a couple of incidents where security was breached at the city’s international airport.

On Monday evening, nearly three dozen air travellers who had arrived from the U.S. ended up in an unsecured concourse area at Calgary International Airport containing passengers from other flights.

The airport authority says the passengers went through a door that was inadvertently left open.

It happened again Tuesday morning, apparently for the same reason, and in both cases airport authorities discovered the mistake quickly, and managed to round up the wayward passengers.

Some had to be re-screened.

The airport authority says this has happened before, and it will hold debriefings with all parties involved to determine if any action is needed.

A spokesperson says a reminder about keeping certain doors closed will likely be issued.
