Creative minds can learn the business side of things at the Rock the Books small business information seminar.
Knowing that business aspects can run a distant second to creative concerns for many musicians, actors and visual artists, the Red Deer Arts Council is throwing a business seminar aimed at those in the arts and entertainment field.
Canadian Revenue Agency speaker Janis Richards will discuss employee versus self-employed situations, business income and eligible expenses, inventory, and donating services.
She will also provide some record keeping suggestions and answer the question: When do I register for GST?
The seminar runs at twice on Wednesday, March 28, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in room AC-159 at Red Deer College, and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose studio at Red Deer’s Culture Services Centre, 3827-39th St.
Register by Thursday, March 22, by phoning 403-348-2787, or by emailing info@reddeerartscouncil.ca.
The fee of $20 or $10 for Red Deer Arts Council members (RDC students can attend for free) can be paid in advance or at the door.
