OTTAWA — A Senate committee recommends the RCMP amend its code of conduct to explicity define and prohibit harassment.

Currently the behaviour is dealt with under the umbrella of disgraceful conduct.

In a newly tabled report, the senators say spelling out the prohibition in direct language would avoid ambiguity.

Several RCMP officers have complained of abusive behaviour and intimidation since Cpl. Catherine Galliford went public in 2011 with allegations of harassment.
