Residents of a Canmore seniors home are believed safe after fire caused an early-morning evacuation.

CANMORE, Alta. — Residents of a Canmore seniors home are believed safe after fire caused an early-morning evacuation.

Canmore Fire and Rescue says residents of Bow River Seniors Lodge were forced from their homes early Friday.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the building.

Everyone from the home is believed to be accounted for.

The fire is now under control but fire crews expect to be on the site for a while yet, snuffing out hot spots and tracing the cause of the flames.
