Seventh bank hit in string of violent robberies

GIBBONS, Alta. — A female teller has been assaulted in what police believe is the latest in a string of seven bank robberies in small Alberta communities.

GIBBONS, Alta. — A female teller has been assaulted in what police believe is the latest in a string of seven bank robberies in small Alberta communities.

RCMP say the teller at an Alberta Treasury Branch in Gibbons was hurt even though she was cooperating with the gang of thieves.

ATB has put up a $10,000 reward for information leading to arrests in any of the holdups.

ATB branches in Lac la Biche, Wildwood, Millet and Onoway were robbed at gunpoint between Nov. 30 and Jan. 4.

A Bank of Montreal in Wetaskiwin and a TD Canada Trust in Bonnyville have also been hit.
