Two Red Deer singing sensations will no longer be competing for the top spot in Canada’s Got Talent.

Olivia Smith, 12, and Michelle Lee, 28, didn’t make the cut on Sunday evening for the semifinals of the popular Citytv talent show.

Smith specializes in singing opera and received a standing ovation from one of the show’s judges, comic actor Martin Short, during her audition, which aired on March 10.

Lee, a service worker at a local car dealership, sang To Make You Feel My Love at her audition, which also aired March 10, and has “one hell of a voice,” according to fellow judge producer/songwriter Stephan Moccio.

Thirty-seven semifinalists were selected by the judges. The first show of the semifinals will air on April 2 at 8 p.m. eastern time.

Smith and Lee auditioned for the show last fall but couldn’t speak about it until their auditions aired.

Canada’s Got Talent is the largest national talent search in Canadian television history.
