Snowbirds downed at World Baseball Championships

The Red Deer Gary Moe Volkswagon Snowbirds dropped a 13-4 decision to the top-seeded San Diego Mudcats in the 65-and-over World Baseball Championships semifinal Saturday.

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Red Deer Gary Moe Volkswagon Snowbirds dropped a 13-4 decision to the top-seeded San Diego Mudcats in the 65-and-over World Baseball Championships semifinal Saturday.

Ralph Kachor took the loss on the mound while Cliff Skibinski had two hits.

Earlier the Snowbirds downed Tucson Golden Aces 11-4 in the semifinals with Lyle Lorenz going the distance on the mound.

Bob Stevenson, Kachor and Lorenz had two hits each.
