LETHBRIDGE — A southern Alberta teacher facing charges of sexual assault against two young boys has been released on bail.

Jamey Kristian, who is 37, made his first court appearance in Lethbridge on Monday.

He’s accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old boy last summer and a second boy between June 2008 and July 2012.

Westwind School Division superintendent Ken Sommerfeldt says Kristian has been employed with the district for five years and has spent the past four years at Raymond Elementary school south of Lethbridge.

Part of his release conditions include no internet access and staying away from Raymond school and public places like pools and playgrounds.

He’ll be back in court on Feb. 28.
