BROOKS — A southern Alberta woman faces charges after a teen was scalded by boiling water while she slept.
RCMP in Brooks say officers responded to a disturbance complaint Monday night at an apartment complex.
They found a 15-year-old girl suffering from extreme burns to her lower part of her body.
She had been fighting with another female in the apartment earlier in the evening.
The teen was transported to hospital in Calgary where she is being treated for third-degree burns to her legs.
Charges of aggravated assault are pending against a 21-year-old woman from Brooks.
She is to appear in Brooks provincial court March 28.
