BANFF — Banff National Park already has some of the most stunning scenery anywhere, but now it has some added beauty to boast about.
The park is featured as a backdrop in several photographs in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Brazilian surfer Bruna Schmitz, American volleyball player Kim Glass and Paraguayan javelin thrower Leryn Franco all had their pictures taken in the park last July.
Local tourism official Julie Canning says Banff is thrilled that the magazine selected the park to showcase what she called “some other natural beauties.”
The swimsuit issue is on news stands now.
