It’s not quite a sprint to the finish but Colin Harris is approaching the end of a long journey. Harris, who began a run across Canada in St. John’s Nfld. in January this year stopped in Red Deer to visit some schools and the Kerry Wood Nature Centre and to run some of the trails in the city. While at Annie L. Gaetz Elementary School in Red Deer on Wednesday Harris gave a presentation to encourage the students and staff to unplug from electronic devices and get outside and enjoy the natural world. During his visit to Annie L. Gaetz Harris challenge Jalynn Chilibeck, Tyler Skoglund and not shown Skyler Smith to a short race as the other students looked on. Harris hopes to finish his long run by the end of October in Victoria. To learn more about Harris’ run log onto www.takemeoutside.ca
