It’s among five finalists for the third-round prize in UFA Co-operative Ltd.’s Rural from the Roots Up — Get ‘n’ Give Contest. Also vying for the money are groups or organizations from Armena, Dalum, Hand Hills and Lomond, Alta.
UFA received more than 275 applications for the contest, which involves five, $50,000 prizes. The first went to the Hussar & District Hall Maintenance Society, which in turn selected Foremost Minor Hockey, Foremost Seniors and the Foremost Legacy Bridge Committee as recipients of the second cash prize.
Foremost is now responsible for selecting the winner of the current round, which it is scheduled to do on Jan. 15.
The Rural from the Roots Up — Get ‘n’ Give Contest is designed to support projects that “support and enrich rural communities.”
