Stampeders add four imports

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed three import defensive backs and a quarterback.

CFL rookie camps open Wednesday with main camps starting five days later.

Defensive backs Marcus Jemison, Jay Leggin and Daren Stone are coming to camp as well as quarterback Steven Gachette.

Stone spent four seasons with the University of Maine Black Bears and has NFL experience with Atlanta, Baltimore and Dallas. His career college totals include 173 tackles, including 16.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and 10 interceptions.

Jemison had 21 tackles and an interception for Grambling State in 2009. Leggin spent two seasons playing both receiver and defensive back at Eastern Washington University. He had 11 tackles and compiled 178 yards in 11 kickoff returns in 2009.

Gachette played four seasons with the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats and was named conference player of the year three times for the NCAA Division 2 school. He holds the school record for most touchdown passes (six), passing yards (459) and pass attempts (68) in one game.
