A Facebook post helped police recover a stolen truck and arrest two men.

On Tuesday, Sylvan Lake RCMP were called to investigate a break-and-enter at a local industrial park business. During the break-in, a Ford F-350 truck was stolen.

The following day, a tipster called police to say they had seen the truck, identified by a Facebook photo, at a rural property near Benalto.

Police say the truck was in the process of being dismantled.

When RCMP arrived on the scene, a suspect fled in the stolen truck. For public safety reasons, police decided not to chase it.

Police later returned to the property and arrested two men.

A 29-year-old Red Deer County resident was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from police and failing to comply with previous release conditions. He was released on $3,000 cash bail and is due in court on June 3.

A 39-year-old Penhold resident, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, was also arrested.

Police continue to investigate.
