The City of Red Deer plans to close 39th Street between Edgington Avenue and Ellenwood Drive starting on Monday.
The closure will run until at least Feb. 11. It is to facilitate the final stages of water main replacement. The closure may be extended depending on weather conditions.
The city is reminding motorists to respect all barricades and no-parking signs.
The ongoing work that has blocked off areas of 39th Street since August has been an aggravation for many motorists since it is a main thoroughfare to four area schools and many homes and businesses.
