It was a highly successful year for the Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School Symphonic Band. The young musicians travelled to California to participate in the Disney Performing Arts program, shown above. Senior music arranger Joe Alfuso, who led the sound-track workshop, called the band one of the top three he’s worked with in the decade he was a Disneyland music clinician. The band performed at the Plaza Gardens Stage in Disneyland Park and the Hollywood Backlot Stage in California Adventure Park. The musicians also performed in the Alberta Band Association Provincial Festival of Bands where the band was one of the highest-rated competitors, receiving a Superior Award.
